In the Shade of War

[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to the podcast. Present your vaccine passport. Enter your social credit score and be sure you have enough remaining carbon credits to enjoy today's show. Your garden is the resistance.

[00:00:25] How you looking on carbon credits? Happy Friday, PBN family. I'm headed off with my father to the freak show. You might know it as the Department of Motor Vehicles. So, as you can imagine, my morning will be a trying one. It's been a testing time. Oh well, you know, it is what it is.

[00:00:52] You know, you should make it a point to enjoy your life no matter where you're at, what you're doing. Because at the end of the day, even if I run into like a one-eyed half-brain at the Department of Motor Vehicle, or even if something beautiful like the ghetto ballet of violence breaks out, you know, in a few rows behind me, then, you know, it is what it is.

[00:01:16] It's still beautiful. It's still better than starving to death in the 1600s and, you know, having your wife stolen away from you by some king on your wedding night, right? It's a lot... We've avoided a lot of sorrow and suffering over the ages. And, uh, yeah. So, it is what it is. Today, Friday, Carl B will be on. He's going to be talking Indo-Pac. Indo-Pac is all the rage.

[00:01:44] Tactical nukes are all the rage, ladies and gentlemen. All the kids, all the TikTokers are talking about it. Um, you know. It's just part of World War III. It's just part of this, this slog into World War III that I've been talking about for three years. Right? This, this slow world war we've been in. No one seems to understand that it's already happening, but it's happening. And maybe it's because every war is a world war anymore, right?

[00:02:13] There's always different arms and tentacles tethered into it. It's very rare that one nation goes to war against the other and no other nation has influence or say-so or inputs. Right? Now, what the hell? It is what it is. Because I think, uh, the best approach is a steady and grinding and maybe even destructive, uh, pace towards peace. Right?

[00:02:42] I'm always kind of like, if we're gonna have war, let's make it the worst war you've ever seen in a week's time and then be done. You know what I mean? Like, instead of having a war that is now what? Where are we at? Three years with Russia? Two years or something like that with Israel? I don't know. I can't keep track of all this conflict in the world.

[00:03:08] So, let's just do a week of bombings and slaughter and murder and blood run red in the streets. And, you know, then you can kill everyone off that needs to be killed off. And then in a week, two weeks max, it'll be done. You know what I mean? Nukes. Whatever you need to do to get the job done. Just get it done in a week. You got a week turnaround time. I know. It's a fantasy. Well, nukes are fantasy.

[00:03:37] I saw an interesting video title the other day. I didn't watch it. It said, Russia's nukes are a lie. It's very rare that I see something and don't read it or don't watch it and then it stays on top of mind for a very long time. I'd like to get into that. I don't think that Russia's nukes are a lie. We've seen some detonations. Capability. I mean, yeah, who knows? Who really knows? It does seem like as these larger scale... I don't want to make this a military show.

[00:04:05] I'm just kind of rapping with you before I go pick my father up. We head off to the burning pits of hell. The flesh fields. It does seem that militaries outside of Israel have pretty much underwhelmed. Right? I mean, what military... I guess there was a pretty impressive dog fight I heard about. I didn't see it. But in between India and Pakistan. Not too bad. Pretty cool.

[00:04:36] Listen, The World of Ready is out, PBN Family, on Sunday. Get your copy, please. You can pre-order it in the Kindle version. But Sunday, The World of Ready 2 is out. My kid's book, Incredible Illustrator. This one is called Book 2, Camping Safety. And, well, that's what it is. There is a core lesson to be taught to kids when they go out in the woods about not... You know, about getting lost and being found and that kind of thing.

[00:05:06] And, really, this whole book kind of boils down to that lesson. And it's an important one, you know? And, sure, I can tell it to you and it's nothing, you know, absolutely, like, mind-bending. But much better if you read to your kid. Or, have your older kid read to your younger kid. Whatever the situation is. And, you know, do the thing, right? Make them... They're gonna love the illustrations. Like, there's...

[00:05:33] It's not a tough sell on the illustration side, the story side. It's fun. You know, it's... It's a... It's an otherworldly ride. So, check it out. Sunday, Mother's Day. Buy your copy. Pre-order your Kindle. Buy your hard copy. Put it away. There will be more to come. You know, this will be a multi... Multi-book series. I don't know how many. At least five. Maybe ten.

[00:06:03] The whole thing... You know, I wanna... I wanna make a cartoon. But, in order to make a cartoon, you gotta make a book first. Or something. Something to pitch. You know what I mean? It just is what it is. So... Prepping. Survival. Homesteading. The weekend is upon us. Time. Oh, free time to take care of things. What are the things that need taken care of? You know? One... One... Great enemy.

[00:06:32] One great expensive and costly enemy that has become the bane of my existence is shade trees. Shade trees have become a monster. Uh... Because the severity of shade should not be denied. You know? And it's probably worth talking about because I know there's somebody out there thinking... What the hell? Why am I so bad at this growing of food business? Like, why am I so bad at gardening? It doesn't make sense.

[00:07:02] I would definitely check sun first. Check sun first. What's the sun look like? How much sun are your plants actually getting? Because I can tell you right now, sun is everything. You know? Soil is everything, but sun is also everything. Everything is everything. Um... And you just gotta... You gotta wrap your head around that. You gotta understand that's the deal. You know? I... I had really great gardens for years.

[00:07:31] Treats have gotten so crazy in my backyard. Uh... And actually we're gonna remedy it with a... We decided to invest the money that we'd spend on getting... Well, actually... God. An eighth? A tenth? A fifteenth of the money that we'd spend... To bring an arbor... Well, whatever. An arborist. Bring a bunch of dudes out to cut the tree. Um...

[00:08:00] Trim the tree. You know? That's all I wanted to get done. You trim the tree. You gotta take out a mortgage. The second mortgage to get the trees trimmed nowadays. The guy can't even speak English, but he tells you you need a second mortgage to get four trees trimmed. Okay. Okay. So we... We, uh... We invested in a... I think it's like a 12 foot pole saw. Electric. I played around with it. The extension piece don't work, of course. Out right out of the box. Half of it's broken. So... But, you know, whatever. We just bought it.

[00:08:30] We got warranty. All that kind of stuff. So we gotta exchange it. But... I'm telling you right now, it's... It's a good investment. It's a good investment. Get your hands on an electric pole saw. Something along those lines. Because you may be like... If you're a person who's suffering. And you're suffering... Um... Shade. Like a backyard. There's just simply too much shade. Like you may be a pole saw. You may be like a $300 pole saw.

[00:09:00] Uh... Out from having great sun. In your front yard, backyard, side yard, growing area. Whatever it is. The pole saw makes a world of difference. So... Um... And they're sweet. It's a cobalt. I was surprised. You know, you... Things are changing rapidly. Technologies. And when you get tools, you really sort of see it. You see like an electric pole saw. And you think like... Well... I'll stand there and suffer two hours at... At a limb to get it to come down. Come crashing down with this electric pole saw. It's worth it.

[00:09:30] It'll save me some money. This thing is diabolical. Okay? Seriously. It's like... Incredible. I had a couple dead peach trees. I cut them down. The whole thing's limbs down. You know... Minutes. Not even minutes. Maybe a minute. So... Definitely worth having. Renewable. Right? Don't even need gasoline. Got the 0.0 energy... Uh... Solar generator. So the batteries themselves can be recharged on solar power. Cool.

[00:10:00] Cool utility. Right? You run out of gasoline. You run out of bar and chain oil. Guess what? You don't have a chainsaw anymore. Uh... Something to consider. Something to consider. Alright, PBN family. Enjoy the rest of your day. Like I said... Uh... Carl B. Coming. An Indo-Pac war at noon today. The strange truth. And... Uh... Yeah, I think that's about it, folks.
