Dave Jones We have to or else we got to do a whole show. Dave Jones Yeah. So 24 years active duty army nuclear biological chemical warfare. I was in during the Cold War and I used to say, I fought the Cold War and we won, damn it.

[00:01:28] Dave Jones Thanks to you, man. Dave Jones Yeah. And then, so after I retired, 9-11 happened and six months after that, I found myself back in the army. So they sent me straight to the Middle East, where I traveled to 22 and now 16 different countries in 22 months. Dave Jones Wow. Dave Jones Some of them more than once. I think I was in Egypt three times. Jordan twice for sure.

[00:01:55] Dave Jones That's why I met Maria. And then I retired again, emergency management my whole life. I was in the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Operations Center as a watch officer when 9-11 happened.

[00:02:14] Dave Jones And at my console came the call from Somerset County Dispatch. And the dispatch lady says, Hey, I got some guy on a cell phone says he's planes being hijacked. What do we tell him? Dave Jones And before we could formulate an answer? That was my eighth day on the job. So that was my introduction. Dave Jones Adam tested.

[00:02:39] Dave Jones Yep. We went into full activation for three weeks straight. We went right from that to anthrax. If you remember those anthrax scares and attacks.

[00:02:52] Dave Jones So I did emergency management pretty well. I went up through Pennsylvania Emergency Management. I was the guy that was certifying the county emergency management guys. And then I went to a place called NASA. You may have heard of them. Dave Jones And then I went to a place. Dave Jones This was pre-Musk. Dave Jones Yeah. Pre-Musk. Dave Jones They were still doing it.

[00:03:21] Dave Jones As a matter of fact, the shuttle was just being phased out. This was like right when Barack Obama was first swore in. Dave Jones Oh, okay. Dave Jones Yeah. So then I went to an airport. Dave Jones That was a crazy time to be in there. Dave Jones Oh, yeah. Dave Jones He was the guy who shut the shuttle down, right? Dave Jones Yep. Dave Jones Didn't he kill the shuttle? Dave Jones Yeah. Dave Jones He killed it. And then NASA was finished after that, right?

[00:03:49] Dave Jones Well, they were dependent on the Russians to still vary things. Yeah, it was crazy. It was crazy. So then I went to Air Force Global Strike Command, the nuclear weapons command for the Air Force. And I was one of the only civilians on a nuclear weapons accident response team.

[00:04:20] Dave Jones Dave Jones Yeah. Dave Jones But luckily, but luckily, nothing like that happened. But I was trained to do all that. Dave Jones Yeah.

[00:04:31] Dave Jones And then I went to the Department of Homeland Security, worked at a top secret government facility for, I guess, the last seven years before I retired. It's something like that. And I retired about six years ago.

[00:04:53] Dave Jones And then, three or four years, I was steady prepping, you know, building my prepper infrastructure. And now I teach history at my son's school. I teach history because I lived most of it. Dave Jones There you go. But the Jones Homestead is no joke. Dave Jones It is no joke. Dave Jones That thing's going full-time.

[00:05:16] yes on top of your full-time job so that's that's always impressed me yeah well and that's uh you know that's mostly maria because you know she's romanian strong like a bull we love we love her man we love maria for sure yeah oh yeah that i mean for all that that you

[00:05:40] just mentioned that is the hyper abbreviated version there's more to talk about hey berg said uh i'll throw her i put it up on the show okay so i'm let my hair grow yeah he put a little hair out there what do they call it the silver fox yeah i'm trying to film over that bold spot i think

[00:06:10] uh it's friction friction there you go yeah so i thought uh tonight we would talk a little bit about what's going on overseas in general yeah you know sort of like right out your front door and overseas is kind of the concept tonight right the jones home said what you guys got going on is always fun so i'm sure we'll wind up in that um but also you know europe like i haven't really heard your take on

[00:06:40] you know a lot like i haven't got your take on sort of trump backing out of ukraine and europe stepping up and saying we're gonna be tough guys all of a sudden and then you know what's happening in ukraine with russia russia's the deal and and now we have uh i guess selensky's ready for a truce it seems like especially after that massive ass whooping they took over the weekend yeah and uh

[00:07:09] i don't know you know it's a it see so this is what everybody needs to know about you and me is when right and this might make me seem like an idiot but when because when i look back on it i'm like yeah that does seem kind of dumb but when russia had tanks lined up on the border and men and everything like that dave jones was saying oh they're gonna go in and me i was thinking maybe

[00:07:34] i know better than the guy who was in the army for 25 years and i thought it was all a bluff and then and and then they started rolling yeah but uh the trigger for me it was the i think it was they increased their numbers by 10 000 and then and then they moved their blood supply forward oh and i'm

[00:07:58] like i'm like whoa whoa wait a minute you know blood's only good for like 30 days anyways and they would not move that forward unless they planned hey we're gonna have casualties and that's you don't do that kind of stuff for a show yeah yeah that you were dead on that was a that was a great one and then we um you know and here we are that seems like a lifetime ago that seems like a lifetime ago all them

[00:08:29] gosh yeah so well go ahead oh well you know you you think back on that and uh yeah what what you were doing back then to prep and i i've uh come full circle now i'm i'm prepping more now because of the instability okay because i did a daily audio cash this weekend

[00:08:53] yeah i heard it gold and cash and all that you have me nervous well maybe that's why you asked me to come on the show wait we got to hear from dave what's no you had me nervous about the the sort of opsec end of things yeah when you were talking about the wallet and all that kind of stuff i was getting like well you know that's just the just the thing like i said you used to do that and call it mad money

[00:09:22] to get a cab yeah and it was 20 bucks yeah well there was nowhere else you could keep your money but in your wallet i mean you could keep it at home but you know if you needed it you had to have it in the wallet well i have a i have a money clip that's if anybody if anybody robs me i pull the money out of the front pocket okay that's a good move i throw it on the ground and when they reach

[00:09:47] down to pick it up i draw my nine sawed off shotgun yeah yeah yeah that's the way to go no that i mean hey in all seriousness anymore you never know you know you just never know anymore but yeah i mean what do you what are your feelings about i guess probably the thing that i i feel the least comfortable with

[00:10:11] than what's going on over there is kind of like russia like they're suffering some pretty severe casualties but they don't seem like they're prepared to give up at all and this is an enemy that you kind of know pretty well because you came up with sort of the russia on your on your back you know in the time that you were in there doing your thing i mean is that pretty standard fare for them i know that they're

[00:10:36] they're like an attrition warfare kind of country anyway well and you you look back they started their draft two years ago yeah if you remember when the when the war kicked off and and then they said no one under 18 or no one over 18 18 to 40 can leave the country and they were stopping flights and

[00:10:59] yeah all this stuff with so now that's that's been in the works now and they've worked that out so now their stream of guys are actually rotating to the front and to other military bases so they have their you know if you want people to get experience in combat you send them to combat so they have

[00:11:25] their rotation that's going and it's just a steady thing you know it's like we were in afghanistan if you were in the the army back then and you didn't have a combat patch you weren't shit ah i got you you were not there you did not do that okay yeah you were a different thing

[00:11:50] yeah and your rank probably managed less than that patch yeah right because it was yeah okay i got a guy had a patch from a unit that you knew you know took casualties and he got a eib and all this other stuff on there you're like oh listen to what this guy says he's been there yeah that was always weird to me yeah but anyway yeah don't let me go down that rabbit hole so i mean now yeah so

[00:12:20] that's where russia is they have a steady stream of young men and ukraine got the infantry yeah yeah ukraine not so much and they're they're scraping they're conscripting and all that kind of stuff in ukraine it looks from what i've seen anyway yeah yeah i mean i don't know i never felt like ukraine was in a position that was good the whole time i never felt that there was a winning moment i

[00:12:48] never felt they've been losing land since the beginning you know even that little push into kursk seemed like those guys are and they got caught today i think i think the kursk guys got surrounded today and man i would hate to be those dudes yeah talk about people you don't want to be in a position

[00:13:11] you don't want to be in whenever whenever there's uh peace talks imminent or a ceasefire there's always a last minute push so this is uh putin's and russia's last minute push so they have something more on the bargaining table they'll have prisoners to exchange though i gotcha more land than they want

[00:13:37] and they'll put that into the negotiation so this is brilliant so they'll hang on to those cursed guys yeah beat them up you know and then they'll say we'll give them back you know as part of this deal right and they can look like oh they're great guys they gave them back yeah we could have tortured

[00:14:00] them to death but we gave them back yeah so they're gonna take that that donetsk region and all that kind of stuff and call it um uh what is it a buffer zone or whatever you think that seems like what they want to do absolutely just like we have the dmz in korea yeah they're gonna have the dmz

[00:14:22] in ukraine yeah so uh you know when zelinski did that thing in the oval office it was a friday and i saw it after i got back from school and i'm like wow this i've never seen anything like this so cool it was so cool so i i go back to school on monday and i start showing the kids and i said this is what's

[00:14:50] going on right now and then we had a little bit of a debate to where okay uh this is where you're gonna write i feel the united states no i think i said i believe i believe the united states should and then either not or should continue to support ukraine and then i made them and then i made them

[00:15:16] write five sentences that supports that sentence okay their statement and and they were writing and asking questions and you know i don't think a sixth grader should do this i said it's your opinion you know so it got them thinking and then i divided them up i said how many people think should and those people raised their hand i said okay on this side of the classroom how many people think shouldn't

[00:15:44] this side of the classroom and then we read one sentence at a time from each from different people oh that's cool man yeah it was a it was a real really good thought experiment and then i said now that we've done this i'm going to give you five extra credit points one point for each sentence that

[00:16:07] you wrote to add to any quiz that you have wow yeah oh that's huge yeah so that's yeah that i mean that was monumental it was so foreign to me to see that oh i never seen anything like that and then the deal was off and they threw him out yeah they gave the dinner to the press corps right he said or the

[00:16:34] luncheon they said the lunch is already made table set come on in and eat you know it was like wow wow it was beautiful that's all i have to say about it i was sitting there and i couldn't believe it and i felt so proud watching it you know i was like i can't remember the last time a president stood up

[00:16:55] in a in an uncomfortable situation that could just make him look so bad but he just stood up for us you know what i mean yeah it was wild it was it was anything like it now that i've watched it like six times because i did each grade yeah oh right i i really you can see where he

[00:17:22] zelinski is antagonizing trump oh yeah he's just sitting there and it's not until and and watch the body language of zelinski when he's leaning forward trying to make his point to jd vance yeah about diplomacy and then all of a sudden he leans back and crosses his arms like this and i'm like and i pointed out to the class now look nothing else that's being said is gonna matter he's completely

[00:17:52] closed off right yeah and yeah it was really something it really was amazing i i really loved it when when trump told him because he was telling him but he was telling us don't tell us what we're gonna feel yeah when he said you'll you'll feel it don't worry you know you have a great big ocean but you're going to feel it and then trump said don't tell us what we're going to feel you don't

[00:18:17] know what we're going to feel and i just felt like he that was something that he did so that the people watching would go like you know this isn't this isn't russia's decision they're not going to decide to attack the united states of america or whatever you know zelinski was getting at when he said you're gonna feel it yeah it was a beautiful thing it was and then he'd like a day later he buckled

[00:18:41] yeah actually i think it was two days later because something like that first he he he wouldn't apologize and then uh before trump's speech to the joint session of congress yeah he sent a letter and he said he didn't really apologize he just said i regret what happens in the office of course

[00:19:10] everybody regrets it you know i don't regret it i thought it was awesome yeah i thought it was also yeah that leading into that it really this is the thing with these world particularly with this war so we can stay on with this war is it just seems like trump is taking because by taking the

[00:19:32] intelligence away taking the funding away you're forcing him into a truce yeah you have no real you have no real option anymore you can't go blindly with no weapons and fight you know the third biggest military on the planet i guess right when people uh think about the support they always think about

[00:19:55] bullets and ammo and all that kind of stuff but you know the the intelligence the satellite the just just everything the signal intelligence you know we tell them hey this is the target you need to send this missile to that target right and they they have none of that they have no capabilities if we cut

[00:20:19] them off it would be they wouldn't have any of the victories i think that was a direct result of what happened over the weekend too i think with the intelligence we would have said they're making moves they got drones they got all this stuff lined up at this location they're getting ready to attack so get prepared but without the intelligence i think russia could do that big bombing and drone spree because how

[00:20:45] would they know you know what i mean how would they have they wouldn't have the intelligence to do it so yeah i mean i guess ukraine will still exist they'll have to rebuild you know to some degree russia will get their their what'd you call it the what zone or zone the dmz the dmz that's it yeah the demilitarized zone yeah and then and then from then on i guess it's going to be up to well the

[00:21:13] other big thing in all of it is what is europe going to do is europe going to step in and ruin everything that's what scares me yeah you know what i mean well i don't think they're going to step in and ruin everything you know trump's uh signal that he's going to cut off things makes them put more up

[00:21:36] you know uh since the 80s i mean the german army in the 80s was top notch they were they were number one we trained with them a lot and they had that leopold tank which was well we didn't even have the m1 at that time so they were they were just the army in europe

[00:21:58] but since then they just haven't been i mean their army is a joke now they're like reserve reserve forces they're they're nothing what they used to be oh my camera went out of focus oh that's all right either that or my eyeballs are blurry we just we just popped up on x okay good yay although on instagram it looks like our video is

[00:22:27] frozen or something i don't know what's going on over there hopefully they can see us but yeah what i was worried about is them sort of refueling the ukrainian effort you know like okay they're not going to give you intelligence then the sas will come in and we'll do intelligence for you and keep the war effort going you know because i don't know what europe's thinking if they think

[00:22:50] we can use sort of like what the united states has done i think is we can sacrifice ukraine in order to you know really deflate the russian military capacity and then we don't have to worry about it as much you know some of that's going on right but they're they're um they've been on a war footing for many years so they got their military industrial complex up and running where it hadn't been running before

[00:23:18] so yeah you know ours ours is kind of stagnant but you want me to go over this stuff because maria when i told her we were going to have this show she went all out to try and get romanian oh yeah let's bring it up i'll bring it up right now boom yay this is this is my chosen headline as we start to talk about the because a lot of people probably don't even know what's going on so you may

[00:23:46] want to give them like the the intro because we talked about it months ago when it first started pre-trump election even exactly and it's not cooled off at all no it's gotten worse way way worse so romania sits on the border of ukraine and they are considered just like poland right the next

[00:24:14] thing on vladimir putin's to-do list exactly so so uh they had an election back in november and the way romanian elections go everybody that wants to be a candidate they run so they ran like 14 candidates and the top two get into a runoff election well one was a kamala harris like

[00:24:41] woman and the other one was a donald trump like guy so um they were going to go into the runoff election which was going to happen in december and the seat sitting president declared the election

[00:25:00] null and void and and he he said that russia through tiktok influenced the election and it looked like the the trump-like candidate was going to win uh big time couldn't have that yeah we couldn't have that

[00:25:22] he actually suspended elections and now on february 10th he resigned and stepped down and i think he left the country i think uh uh he handpicked his successor okay you'll run this until

[00:25:44] the next election and uh he got a lot of weapons and support from the united states like we did okay to them and poland and he sold them to an unknown source uh made lots of money him and his top generals did this and now i guess the fbi is looking into

[00:26:14] uh where those weapons may have ended up so that's that's one thing so where do you think they ended up uh if you had to take a wild guess highest bidder yeah whoever paid the most money so terrorists probably yeah iran iranian sources exactly because they got all that money or maybe ukraine

[00:26:41] they had a lot of money to spend yeah our money that's what i mean yeah i mean they have that money they have that big chunk of change they just have no idea what happened to it where it went oh no misplaced that billion what's going on right now is the current president that was never elected but handpicked okay he he goes in there and you remember when jd vance said uh you got to be more open with

[00:27:10] your people and uh freedom of speech yeah well this guy gets up before their parliament and starts like lambasting jd vance who's he to tell us how to run our country right right because he did that yeah he should pay attention to what's going on in the united states so this guy is not uh

[00:27:37] not well liked not the the good thing is they're going to have another election the bad thing is they've already tried twice to put this guy on trial the trump-like candidate so they're using oh so they're felony in him up too yes why would they make the same mistake that

[00:28:03] didn't work in america well according to the way their elections run uh you can't run if you're accused not not convicted just yeah just accused wow that's convenient so it will make him ineligible to be on the ballot but that's real convenient also fighting that before their version of the supreme court which

[00:28:32] doesn't look like it's going to side with him because they have been corrupted too wow yeah so it's it's consequently there's huge demonstrations people don't like what's going on they're they're going in the streets um maria said that this past weekend now understand that in romania their police force is a

[00:29:00] national police force so it's not like sheriffs and all that kind of stuff it's the whole country is under the same police force i got you and and she said that they stopped putting up barricades that they stopped responding to riots so oh god how's that work

[00:29:26] how they're there did you take it for once yeah just for one i gotta go see what's going on in my backyard go ahead so this is what's going on in romania and it's spilling over into other countries i mean they're uh the eu they want the person they're they're backing a young guy that is

[00:29:55] way left and they want that guy elected and they're making no no bones about it they're supporting uh that candidate so we'll see what happens with the temporary president and let's see they're they're

[00:30:16] uh sorry sorry gotta read my notes fbi's investigating yeah the current temporary guy and uh uh oh the mandatory training so uh they they're trying to get their version of congress their parliament

[00:30:38] to pass a mandatory if you're 19 to 60 you have to at least take basic training in the military uh that's eminent so they're they're trying to stop and anybody that's working outside the country that is a romanian citizen they're not going to let them back in

[00:31:06] unless they take that training or they'll be arrested so there's a mandatory uh compulsory uh compulsory basic training that they want every male to take they did do the call up of 10 000 troops this is way back the the call up happened they offered bonuses and incentives and

[00:31:33] they did get but it took them two years to do it uh the 10 000 extra additional military uh troops yeah it's it's going crazy in europe right now and no one's covering it it's definitely going crazy in romania

[00:31:53] how does maria feel about all of it and her family well she has a a nephew that's of draft age and he's talking about leaving the country and because they put these rules in place that you can't come back

[00:32:14] or you go to jail he's trying to look for a medical way out uh maria's nephew oh okay yeah yeah but that story to go back to the romanian military and a story that blew my mind that maria told me and you years ago probably years ago now um i am not well versed in even the united states military let alone the militaries

[00:32:42] of the world so me being an american i always assumed that everybody operates the same way you know what i mean in terms of like if a war comes we shall fight it you know what i mean right and what maria told me was that that a lot of people have no interest in romania and joining the military whatsoever and that really blew my mind i didn't know that was even a sentiment in any country that you know yeah

[00:33:12] well we we canvassed all of the males of military age while we were there and every one of them said no that they they would not fight and if they were called up they would run away why is my camera all out of focus i don't know what's going on with that that might help yeah i have i'm on predator watch out there i don't know what the dogs are on but they're on to

[00:33:39] something ah they're on to something you know what it is i i figured something out dave jones to take a quick diversion yeah i i have a five gallon bucket chicken feeder with the little feeder screw in yeah you know that guy which i absolutely love what i didn't realize about that thing until recently is that is also bait

[00:34:07] really like if you if you were in a situation where you're like i gotta lure some uh some raccoons and possums like that little feeder does it i have to sit that thing in my back step so they eat it all oh that's a that's a little two-purpose uh homestead tip for you because wherever that food is they show up well we actually put ours inside the coop yeah we have an idea we have a coop two coops big enough

[00:34:35] that we can put it in there and then when the you know the door goes down they yeah yeah i gotta put mine right near my back door because even if the big guys don't get to it other little mice and stuff must get to it because it's always it's always a good free meal always screwed with that in the in the field corn man they go gaga over it oh yeah yeah you know another another little tip that i figured out

[00:35:02] is uh if you take i was i i have the chickens in a in a dog enclosure with a coop inside the dog enclosure bird netting over the top because it's relentless out back you would think i live next door to you like the amount of predators that i deal with on a regular basis is insane so we we got them all on lockdown and uh one of the things i do is i take a bin and when i clean

[00:35:29] the coop out and put you know all the bedding in the bin and i left it there and it got rained on and the the chickens went absolutely insane over it and i realized that all the larva once it got wet it got filled with all kinds of worms and beetles and larvae and i was thinking like whoa that that's a cool little trick if you're running out or running low on food feed you know what i mean and you still

[00:35:59] need to feed them and and maybe you don't want to let them free range because you're you know somewhere where they're going to get eaten and if you really need them you know you don't want them getting eaten so that's a little little trick i don't know it's i don't know what is in there like i haven't inspected it but i know that they go they went into that thing like like it was feed they were kicking up bedding up out of that thing and they were in there just packing yeah they were

[00:36:24] going the maggot buckets i think that's pretty much what it was yeah i think that's what it basically became yeah so when we whenever we butcher or have meat scraps or something like that we'll put the the hides and you know the stuff that we don't feed anything else in these buckets the the flies will lay the maggots and then the maggots come out the holes and we put them on a little tripod there and

[00:36:50] the when the maggots fall down the chickens fight over them i mean it's but it's it smells yeah yeah rotten meat is rough and i'm surprised we haven't gotten bears over yeah oh yeah that that's a thing that that is the consequence of a of a filthy coop yeah i've i've i've experienced that before actually i experienced it not long ago with the quails the quails were at that point i had like i got like

[00:37:19] this yellow tray that catches all their droppings and i was like one of those busy days and i knew i had to change it and i forgot about it totally shut them up locked them up in the in the thing and something was in there because we were out late actually we found out what it was it was a it was a little little ish raccoon um but i think that smell is what brought it you know because he wasn't the

[00:37:42] only one that same night uh my big dog ripped a possum up that was right out and behind the shed he just ran down there and ripped that thing up and that was pretty rough you know dogs never kill anything there's only problem with dogs they'll take care-ish of a predator you know what i mean but they don't kill it it's just sitting there looking at you like yeah what do i do now

[00:38:06] yeah yeah that's exactly what that possum was broke yeah i think so uh we just got back into quail oh cool we went up to west virginia we like the jumbo quail okay isn't it jumbo quail that is a funny one yeah so uh we got uh 10 females and two males

[00:38:32] females and the one male pecked the other male to death so yeah i had a couple of that go down in mind too they say seem to have evened out though but they are ferocious aren't they yeah well the other thing i had them do is what you what you told me about is the the heads yeah when they were going through the the the predation in there i guess that they got crazy you know the raccoon didn't get in

[00:39:01] the coop the coop is pretty cool but the raccoon didn't get in there but i think all the commotion them jumping up they like bashed their heads pretty good yeah you know they're all bloody and that kind of but not anymore they're healing now but yeah yeah they're wild they've done nothing for me yet i'm hoping that i'm hoping that yeah nothing i'm hoping that we we got ours and the guy said uh

[00:39:25] they're they're gonna lay any day and by the time we got them home we had an egg oh wow yeah they've been laying ever since so yes they are well i think the fundamental issue with mine is sunlight so we're going to uh we're going to get them out because i have them in the shed yeah so they're getting no sunlight until i bring them out into the sunlight oh so i think i'll do that now that the weather's

[00:39:53] better and uh we'll probably see some improvements i could put one of these big babies inside the old uh shed and give them some uv can you hang on one second i just gotta run and let the dogs in then i'll be right back well sure just give them a tail of quail or something like that tail of quail i'll be right this camera is just killing me here why is it why is it no oh he put me on wide angle

[00:40:49] little i turned the light on to see if it would focus better it's better i need a better hook up here so uh maria wants to get on stream yard and do our own thing and prepping up with the joneses so i'm pretty sure we're going to be doing that this oh dude that'll be great you kidding me i can't wait to hear prepping up with the joneses again oh and so much funny stuff happens

[00:41:17] i'll tell you what you should do man is you should make it mobile you should get a good phone holder one of them sticks and do the show like that because you guys got the all the visuals you know it'd be yeah rather than in the studio you know in the dark basement like you guys got all the good stuff yeah oh sloan six in the house uh uh-huh he's uh miss i miss daily prepper tips

[00:41:50] found my phone the the one that had uh spreaker i did not have speaker i had nowhere to log in oh yeah yeah the moral of the story is don't let your wife clean up the office yeah yeah that's not too bad she put it away again well at least she put it away a lot of times my wife cleans up she goes

[01:01:08] for sure you know i still remember i was pretty nervous about it i was pretty nervous especially that first cache i got to that first cache and it's in a parking lot and there's people everywhere and i wanted to yeah and i wanted to look in that box like i wanted some time with that box because it was a big one my first cache was huge and i was like i gotta find a spot to go like hang out i don't want to use a flashlight because if i it's dark now yeah you'd like you're in a dark parking lot

[01:01:38] with lights and you see over there's a light flash and you're like what the hell's going on over there yeah that was that was a lot of fun that was a lot of fun man yeah i remember telling maria i gotta make up these boxes the stuff that they may need and she she's like going through my creper stuff oh yeah she hooked us up yeah i i started thinking about that the other day i downloaded

[01:02:04] all the shows and started putting them together i have some big props i don't know the the biggest struggle is some of the shows when you download them they say exactly what it is james number two whatever and then some of the shows say draft and a bunch of numbers and it makes it so hard to put them in line so what i think i'm going to do is delete them all and then pick them off one by one

[01:02:30] and then combine it because you're right we need to we need the full four hour whatever it is extravaganza in one shot because it was great but what i started wondering was how long if we used all the food and if we used all the stuff how long could we have lasted out there you know yeah we had a lot of food like we didn't eat anything hardly that night right it was just a

[01:02:57] like an overnight thing and you the the scenario was you guys were supposed to trek to the jones homestead oh that's right i forgot all about that the next morning hey can can you hold on for yeah i'll hold it down don't worry go ahead and let me mute it i'll put you off the thing there

[01:03:21] we go yeah that was uh that was a good one man the gotham get out scenario was essentially a uh it was essentially an urban survival simulation slash bug out and uh we had three there was it was myself future dan and ben the breaker of the banks there's a patriot power hour hosts we had an eight

[01:03:48] mile hike in the cold it was cold as shit it was like 18 degrees out or whatever and uh we had this cold hike and along the way we had to find our way we had to navigate to these caches that the jones crew put up and man it was awesome it was cold actually you know what it wasn't really cold in fact around we did it at night we started it like i guess we started because it was winter and it was still kind

[01:04:17] of daylight when i was getting going so it was it was february so we probably kicked off about 6 30 6 6 30 something like that and i remember about midnight ish 11 ish something like that i had weight in my backpack because the other amazing thing we did for gotham get out before all this kicked off we had 20 bucks and a thrift store 20 to spend in the thrift shop to get a

[01:04:44] backpack and every outer layer that we would need to survive the night and it was gonna be i think it was like it was mid-teens by the time the sun came up so i wound up with a really nice jacket i wound up with a really good back no it wasn't a really good backpack actually it was like a kid's backpack but it was fine zippers held up you know that kind of thing um it was a blast man it was an absolute

[01:05:09] blast and after we did our you good jones or you want me to keep you off for a minute okay i'm reading the comments there oh yeah i was supposed to put the laundry in the dryer and i didn't do it i forgot yeah funny i'm just i was just giving them the rundown about the thrift shop

[01:05:31] and and uh all of the stuff you had a fixed amount of money and you had to buy your stuff and you had a certain amount of time to even go into the thrift store and buy it oh i forgot we had a time limit yeah we had like five minutes shop shop with a purpose you couldn't just go in there and hang out and uh then it was on yeah i said i said i thought we headed out about six i think i shoved off

[01:06:01] about six because i still had a little daylight left and then uh i had to drop each one of you's off at a different location yeah yeah and i remember by about 10 30 11 o'clock i was actually taking off one of my layers under my coat even though it was freezing cold i was like i gotta take a layer off because i'm i was doing fine out there hiking i felt fine i didn't really feel the cold until we

[01:06:31] stopped moving you know but we got a good fire going that was you made fire so easy for us we had about 50 different ways to start yeah i think i wound up shooting some sparks on some gunpowder actually i think that's what we did what we wind up with yeah i'm here i played around with the nine volt in the what's it called but i couldn't get shit going and the guys were and myself we were all like dude let's get warm you

[01:06:59] know i was like hand me that bullet let's do it this way this will be quicker and then we got that going and we built our little homeless encampment yeah and there we sat for i think we were i think we were in camp settled by like one so i think we spent every bit of like four or five hours just chilling future dan wound up getting some shut eye i think i may have passed out a couple times too i

[01:07:27] can't remember i remember being leaned up against something yeah but prime and and ben looked like the coldest dude ever yeah he looked really cold yeah when i came up on you guys at six o'clock in the morning ben was hurting yeah he didn't do well on the shopping remember he had like a he only got like a sweater or something i think yeah and i think once he stopped moving he was probably like oh i could use

[01:07:54] a little more but you guys even hook this up with like mats and some blankets and stuff like that like the mat the mats were clutch for the cold i sat my ass on a mat the whole night and i was kept thinking like i'm pretty cold but if i was sitting on the ground this would be way worse this would be way worse the ground just sucks the heat from your body yeah that's something to consider pbn family

[01:08:22] yeah a little bit of space between you and that cold ground makes a world of difference dude it's a mistake you only make once there you go yeah i've done it once i woke up with pains in my and i was young yeah now but i was like in my 20s like holy crap now i know why they give you that

[01:08:44] sleeping man yeah yeah yeah i did an early spring i remember i did an early spring um solo in a hammock and it got colder than i thought it was gonna get but i thought i was good to go because i had a lot of layers and stuff like that and the the space between the hammock and the ground just sucked all the heat out of me it was yeah i needed one of those hammock quilts one of those under hammock quilts
